PAINTED SAGE ARTISTS NOW SHOWING
The artwork of Painted Sage artists
Barbara Benson, Lynn E. Mecham and Hazel Jensen
is now appearing at a show entitled
"Rhythm and Hues"
at the
"Western Heritage Museum"
in northeastern Utah
The show is a display of, not only authentic West African art and a Djembe
drum created by Modou Sow of Senegal,
but a handmade Djembe and several hand pieced Ashiko drums
created by drum-maker
Dennis A. Jensen.
There are numerous other art pieces of many mediums that are either African
inspired or created with an emphasis on color.
The show is sponsored by the "Uintah Basin Arts League" and hosted by the
Western Heritage Museum.
The Artists Reception, held Wednesday, September 1st, was a great success.
There were two live drumming demos during the evening and
several pieces of art were sold. The show will be open on week days
from now until September 30th.
