News About the Painted Sage Artists:

These artists were featured in February 2006 in a four-artist show

"Windows on the World"

at the Western Heritage Museum in

Vernal, Utah.

The Artists' Reception on February 1st drew a large crowd. The show was touted as one of the best ever held at this Museum.

They have also appreared in two shows in Roosevelt, Utah, RSVP invitational shows:

"An Evening of Fine Arts"

September 2006 and April 2007 at the Crossroads Art Center. These shows were for the artists to sell their work and they donated 20% of all sales to the Crossroads Center for transportation costs for the elderly in the area. They were able to raise over $9000.

They also participated in a one evening show at the Utah Opera Building on June 9, 2007in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Cheryl, Lynn, Hazel and Barbara, along with three other artists from Duchesne and Uintah Counties, were invited to be

Art Partners

at the

Utah Arts Festival

in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 26-29, 2008. They were hosted by the

Utah Arts Council

These artists (Lynn Mecham, Hazel Jensen, Barbara Benson and Cheryl Livingston-Young along with Linda C. Stover--oil artist, Dennis Jensen--Ashiko drum maker and Wilford Conetah--who does mixed media Native American art) did 12 live demonstrations at the Festival as well as sold their work.

This was a marvelous experience for these Uintah Basin artists who appreciated the opportunity the

Utah Arts Council

 afforded them.

They are all back at work with much to accomplish in the coming months.
